The Israel Innovation Institute (NGO) was founded in 2011 to support Israeli entrepreneurs and companies addressing global challenges and creating a foundation for social and economic growth. The Institute focuses on issues with public impact and advances those issues through a unique methodology of building innovation ecosystems and open innovation programs.
The Institute supports entrepreneurs and startups with finding resources, making connections, and exchanging knowledge with industry players. The Institute also initiates open innovation processes in organizations to identify challenges and needs and match them to the most relevant solutions. In addition, the Institute accompanies and supports international organizations that join the Israeli innovation ecosystem.
The Institute collaborates with entrepreneurs, corporate entities, academia, investors, governmental offices, policymakers, municipalities, NGOs, and service providers. This allows organizations to accelerate open innovation processes using designated tools and adapt them to real needs.
Currently, the Institute manages on behalf of the Israeli Government three innovation eco- ecosystems: Digital Healthcare (HealthIL), Smart Transportation (EcoMotion), and Advanced Agriculture (GrowingIL). In 2018, it created the Innovation Management community (CatalystIL) to support the entire mission and serve the innovation implementation in the large corporation associated with the other innovation ecosystems. In 2020, the III founded two innovation ecosystems with local and global partners: DeserTech for desert technologies and PLANETech for climate change technologies.
